This North Carolina Campground Intimate Wedding is a perfect example of the kind of days I want to shoot over and over again. So much intention, so much love and not a ton of “frills”. Abbey + Ryan opted to get married at Gold River Camp in Marion, NC. It’s the most perfect little campground set on the edge of a creek nestled in the North Carolina foothills.
They invited around 20 of their closest friends and family for an intimate and intentional weekend at the campground. There was no wedding party, giving both of them plenty of calm and quiet for their getting ready moments before their private first look. There was a loose timeline, but most of the day flowed calm and unhurried, like the creek that runs through the property.
Come ceremony time, Abbey walked down the sunflower-lined aisle with her parents and stepped onto her grandpas’ rugs that are so cherished. Both of them were drenched in sunlight and warmth making the phrase above them, “life is golden”, ring even more true.
After a few private moments to soak it all in and some couples portraits, Abbey + Ryan joined their guests at the line of picnic tables to start dinner. Their best friends set the table and mom poured champagne into gorgeous mismatched glasses. After Abbey’s dad gave a toast (which brought all of us to tears) it was time for the main course… PIZZA. Everyone ended the night together sharing a meal under the glowing string lights while the first fall chill ran through the air.
